Goodbye Sabertooth

It was because Sting already proved himself to the guildmaster, and the only reason he lost was because of his motion sickness and it wasn’t a battle, however Yukino lost her battle. Not to mention it was her first time entering the games, while it was Sting’s 7th time. The guild master probably saw no use in her, and wanted to replace her with ‘that girl’

Sting had his arms crossed over his chest and looked at the ground, as the other walked past him without noticing. If he only could do something, but he needed the guild…to be strong. It’s just what he’s telling himself, though he knows it’s wrong but he has no other choice. He calls out for her name.

” Yukino ”

Yukino was too caught up in how she had no guild she belonged to that she never noticed the dragon slayer. Maybe she did or maybe she didn’t, but that didn’t matter anymore. He was no longer her guild mate nor was she his guild mate. They would pretend like they didn’t know each other from now on.

But when she heard her name with his voice she stopped in her tracks, not bothering to turn around although she did wipe away her tears.

“Sting-sama.” she whispered.

What’s with all the Ruckus?

Oh look it is someone Kagura hasn’t seen in awhile! She approached slowly, and she didn’t want to scare her off or anything.

“You should go inside if you happen to be catching a cold.” She spoke quietly, placing one hand on her hip and listening to her sneezing. Kagura did want to come off as rude, but she didn’t know it wasn’t that kind of sneezing.

Sneezing so much wasn’t something Yukino intended to do. She was so caught up in sneezing that once she had heard that voice, she stopped and it so happened to scare her a bit once she saw Kagura.

Though, the stellar mage calmed down a tiny bit and took a small but deep breath. Though as she began to breathe the air out of her lungs, she sneezed. Oh dear — what was up with Yukino today?

Wiping the watery snot away from her nose she looked at Kagura then down at her feet, “I’m not getting a cold, I haven’t had allergies before.” she said rather calmly.

“I just think someone is talking about me a bit too much, that is all..” she mumbled.

((  ))

He wondered for how long she cried already? Sting had his feet over the edge as he sat next to her. ” You know… ” he paused, letting out a deep sigh before he started talking again, altough he did not look at her but at the water infront of them, seeing the reflection of theirselves in the water. ” You were really a fool to bet your life during that match ” In the corner of his eyes he looked at her, ” You shouldn’t have done that ” He shakes his head and turns his attention back towards the water again.

” I know you’re confident in your own skills and you have all right to be ” pausing yet again, ” But did you ever think of the concequences? ” He asks as he raises a brow. ” Think about the things that actually could have happend ” then he stays silent. ” I know you just wanted to do impress everyone, but just remember this is your very first competition you enter with this team ” He glances towards his left towards the direction she’s sitting. ” There’s no need to overdo things, or else you will get situations like these ” Letting out another sigh.

” Ya know… ” Sting had no idea why he was going to tell this but maybe it would help? ” This is my 7th time I enter these games, do you think I won my first match when I first entered? ” He asks his hand on his right side slightly clenching into a fist. ” I don’t think so, but I learned from my mistakes and look where am I now. So you should do so too ”

” But now we have to deal with a certain other problem… ”

Which was quite difficult and he actually no idea how to deal with this situation. ” So what are you planning to do now? ” Whatever her answer would be, ” But if they’re thinking we will hand you over that easily they’re mistaken. ”

Though the other was still crying a little, Sting shook his head and ran a hand through his blonde spiky hair, ” For how long are you going to cry? ” He asked her as he looked towards her direction. ” At this rate, this river will overflow if you’ll continue crying like that ” He said in a serious tone, but his face expression was saying something else, it was more of a jokingly way.

” So, enough crying for now. Heads up and keep going we still have 5 days left, we’re not going to lose. After all we’re the strongest in Fiore for 7 years~ Those other guilds are weak it was already proven during the hide and seek fight. We have nothing to fear, we’ll win for sure. Unless ” He says as he deadpanned, ” A zombie apocalypse will happen which will cause the games to be canceled. This of course all according to the theory that Fairy Tail mage came up with after watching a certain horror movie…hehe, such creativity ” He laughed a little.

Sting stood up and glanced towards the other who was still sitting. He held out his hand for her.

” Come on, let’s go back to the lodgings ”

Yukino stayed silent, the whole time she was listening to Sting. Holding her breath here and there where he called her a fool beginning to receive a lecture from the dragon slayer. The only thing she did was grip her cape, still depressed from her battle.

She made that wager because everyone else who battled did, and it was her first time here at the Grand Magic Games. How would she know? Although, maybe she was a bit too confident and didn’t really think of any consequences.

As she listened to Sting’s first day attending the Grand Magic Games her head shot up, glancing at the dragon slayer sitting beside her. Blinking once or twice, she realized that she wasn’t the only one who messed up.

Now hearing of what Yukino, herself was going to do now because of that wager with Kagura, her hopes sank to the bottom of the river. Looking away, resting her head on her knees once again beginning to sob more. But, Sting’s last sentence made tears run down her face as she glanced at his face once more.

“Sting-sama..”

Now she was beginning to get teased, holding her breath she breathed out unevenly and wiped the fresh tears away. Now happy to hear him say kinder words than before.

She didn’t really find the zombie apocalypse joke humorous, but it was enough for her to say, “My spirits can take them.” quickly shutting her mouth trying not to be too confident again.

Yukino noticed Sting stand up, she was still sitting on the ground. Pondering if she’d go back to the lodge or not, but his hand was held out to her. Though she’s never showed this side of her before, she flashed Sting a tiny smile before placing her hand on his and standing up.

“Yeah.”

They walked back to the lodge together, though the only thing that didn’t change of their surroundings was that their hands never broke away.

Sting let out a deep sigh, as he watched the other there in the arena, she had lost the battle but also the bet. Which was anything but good. ” Great.. ” He mumbled towards himself as he turned around and walked away, he just went towards Sabertooth’s waiting room at the arena. It wasn’t where they were staying but Sting had to pick up something there so he better could do that now. After he had done what he needed to do he started walking back towards the lodgings.

Walking through the streets of Crocus, it was night already. Sting had his hands shoved into his pockets and he kept kicking the tiny rock infront of him letting out a groan, yeah he wasn’t in such good mood though then he stopped. He heard something up, he looked up. …Where? He thought as he looked around. Dragon slayers with their heightened hearing sense, he could hear someone…crying?

Sting looked around and followed the sound, he then stopped. He saw Yukino sitting by the edge close to the water. ” … ” So that’s what he heard, her crying. Letting out a tiny sigh he shoved his hands into his pockets and walked towards her, he didn’t say anything but he just sat down next to her. Altough he didn’t say anything, but sometimes it was not necesarry to do such thing. Because having someone next to you would be good enough.

After her loss, many of her guild mates expected her to come back and meet them. But they were wrong, the stellar mage was still traumatized by losing her battle against Mermaid Heel’s Kagura.

After that she ran off somewhere, out of the arena and somewhere a good distance away from everything. There, she let out her emotions. Hics and sobs escaping her mouth along with some loud cries here and there.

Her walls were crumbling, thinking to herself how she could’ve done better. Instead she made Sabertooth look more bad. Yukino never stopped crying, and it was then that she decided to stay outside for the night, in this peaceful looking scenery before her.

Her body crouched, knees together pushed towards her body, her arms wrapping around them whilst her head rested on her knees. That was then she heard footsteps coming near and closer towards her, and it stopped once she felt the vibration of the body sit beside her.

And she could tell who would be lurking this late at night, and so she decided to cry more. For it was someone she wanted to impress during her battle, though.. she failed. Having the idea that he was rather disappointed too.
